Alice J Starver

Alice Jean (nee: Tivis) Starver, age 95, of Wadsworth, Ohio previously from Pittsburgh, PA, went home to be with her Lord on December 1, 2016. She was born in Ellsworth, Kansas to the late James and Edna (nee: Keesee) Tivis on November 20, 1921.

Also preceding her in death is her husband, William Starver; son, Donald Starver (Lois); brother, James Tivis; sisters, Ruth Jordan and Dorothy Ashton.

She is survived by devoted daughter, Gwendolyn (James) Rivers, of Wadsworth, Ohio; seven grandchildren; five- great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and two nieces.

Alice liked to cook, bake, travel and visit with family and friends. Alice graduated from Allegheny Community College with an Associate Degree in Business. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service and held several other jobs in Pittsburgh. She retired from the State of Pennsylvania with 21 years of service at 79 years old.

The family would like to thank the Apostolic Christian Nursing Home and Life Care Hospice for their care and services to our mother.

Family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30am on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High Street, Wadsworth. A private family service will follow. Reverend James Singleton will officiate. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 116 E. Boyer Street, Wadsworth, Ohio or to the Kidney Foundation of Medina County.
