Anne Martin

Anne Martin, born January 22, 1919 and passed away December 17, 2017, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and life-long resident of Barberton, passed away to be with her precious mother, Julia Vargo and her beloved husband, Ivan.  Anne and Ivan worked side by side at Martin’s Market for 33 years to build a very successful business on Copley Road in Akron.  She did not think of herself as a business woman, but she was.  Anne also was the center of fun at every family event and always the light of Ivan’s life. After retirement, she took up the art of egg decorating which pleased her immensely.  Everyone received one of her creations around Christmastime. Her children, Mary and Jim, her 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren have many fond memories of her wit, ready smile and sense of humor. She will be sorely missed.

She leaves behind, children; Mary Robbins and Jim Martin; grandchildren, Wesley, Julie (Jamie Stillman), Katie (Phillip Swift), David (Sarah) and Tom Robbins as well as her precious great grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held FRIDAY, December 22, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place SATURDAY at 9:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton with final services and interment at Greenlawn Cemetery immediately following with Fr. Robert Jackson officiating.
