Arthur "Art" Gifford

Arthur “Art” Gifford, age 90, passed away Friday Sept 23 He was born on January 2, 1926 in Brockton, MA to the late Lewis and Alice Gifford. Art was a graduate for W.I.T. in Boston, a WWII Army Air Corp. Veteran, and was employed by B&W for 28 years. He was a member of St. Mark’s Church in Wadsworth where he was a lay reader and member of the vestry board. Art was also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, member of the Wadsworth Masonic Lodge, enjoyed playing the piano, woodworking, was an Eagle Scout, and was involved in Boy Scouts for many years.

Preceded in death by his brothers, David and Peter (Kate).

Survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Alma; children, Marilyn Gifford (Massachusetts), David (Jill) of Bath Ohio, and Amy Ferrara (Mark) of Hubbard Ohio; grandchildren, Jordan, Emily, and Andrew “Drew” Gifford,  Brittany and Nicholas “Nick” Ferrara.

Art’s sense of humor and wit will be missed by all who knew him.

Private inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will full military honors.

A Memorial Service will take place 2PM on Saturday Nov 5th at the Western Reserve Masonic Community chapel , 4391 Nettleton Road, Media Oh 44256

Donations may be made in Art’s name to St. Mark’s Church or Western Reserve Masonic Community.
