Frederic "Fred" Thomas

Frederic “Fred” Thomas, age 73, of Wadsworth, passed away on March 3, 2017 after a period of extended illnesses. 

He was born August 1, 1943 in Akron, Ohio.

Fred was an avid supporter and alumni of The University of Akron.  He was a longtime volunteer for the University of Akron’s men’s basketball team.  He enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii.  He served on the USS Intrepid and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus in Wadsworth.

Preceded in death by parents and a sister.

Survived by daughter, Tiffany Galehouse (Larry); son, Kevin Lepley; grandchildren, Damian, Griffin and Lillian; six siblings; and many extended family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00am on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 260 Broad Street, Wadsworth. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-8:00pm on THURSDAY, March 9, 2017 at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High Street, Wadsworth. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will full military honors.
