Iona Senesy

Iona Senesy, 88, Burlington, died at 6:30 AM April 14, 2017 Good Friday, at her home. She was born May 18, 1928, in Moreland, Ohio to the late Herbert and Lulu (Breitenbucher) Mackey. Her first husband, John Leslie Smith, died in 1952. She married the late Victor Senesy, on June 3, 1955 in Millersburg, Ohio.

She retired in 1990, from Goodyear. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and spending time with her family. She was an active member of the Burlington Church of Christ, and regularly helped with the food pantry. She had also been involved in the Burlington Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include her son, Mark and Debra Smith, Burlington; sister, Norma Bordac; granddaughters, Heather and Matthew Hubbard, and Hilary and Dan Hubbard; great-grandchildren, Rhianna and Grant Hubbard, and Ingrid and Caspian Hubbard.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Pastor David Osborne officiating. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the mortuary. There will also be funeral services at 11:00 AM Thursday at Cox McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High Street, Wadsworth, Ohio, with visitation one hour prior to services from 10:00-11:00 AM.
