John Franklin Staubs

John F Staubs Sr. 82, of New Franklin passed away on May 16, 2017. John was a 38 year member of Ironworkers’ local union 17 and took pride in his work. John was a Navy Veteran having served proudly during the Korean War Conflict. During his retirement,  John enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his wife in their yard, and on the porch swing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth; mother-in-law, Ruby Hodges; beloved grandson, Jeremy; sisters,  Judy, Margaret Lynn and Mary Lou, and brother, William Staubs Sr.

John is survived by his wife of 59 years, JoAnne; son, John Staubs Jr. of Akron, and daughter Shelley Mayfield of Topsail NC; grandchildren, Adam (Mandi) of Topsail NC, Trey of New Franklin, and Donna Staubs of Pataskala; the jewels in his crown, great grandsons, Tucker, Matthew and Damian; sisters, Rosie, Ruth and Peggy; brothers Jim (Ruth) and Leonard; sister-in-law Frances;  John also leaves many nieces and nephews who loved him and will miss him.
