Marie Benz Obituary

Marie Evelyn Benz (nee: Corbin), age 95, passed away February 5, 2018.

She was born, November 29, 1922, to the late Elliott and Shelva (nee: Howell) Corbin on Kitt’s Hill, near Ironton, Ohio. She married Virgil Benz on June 6, 1942. Marie loved her home; always cleaning to keep a spotless house. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was always ready for company.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 73 years, Virgil Benz who passed in 2015; brothers, Merrill and David Corbin; step-brother, Gordon Beals; and son-in-law Robert Burcham.

Survived by son, Brian (Mary) Benz and daughter, Beth Burcham; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; step-sister, Barbara (Ray) Broughton; extended family and friends.

Thank you to the staff at Jackson Ridge and Cleveland Clinic-Akron General Hospice of VNS for their care and compassion in taking care of Marie.

Graveside services will be held at 12:45pm on Monday, February 12, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio.
