So sorry to hear about Paul. My thoughts and prayers are with Mary and his girls. He was way to young to be taken from all of you, but he is in no more pain. May God lighten your grief and heal your hearts.

Dad - I have so much to thank you for. You taught us more than I can list, but it all came down to you always believing in us and loving us through so many of life's ups and downs.

You always believed in us, even when we didn't believe in ourselves. Whether it was a test, an interview, or something else, you felt we would be the best at it, regardless of who we were up against. I think that is why we always thought you were going to beat this. We didn't know anything else, you taught us to reach for success. You fought harder and stronger than anyone ever should have had to.

You are so stubborn and we all think that's what let you get a far as you did, you refused to quit. It was your way or no way. You decided when it was enough and we can all find comfort in knowing that. There were no machines, no tubes, and none of those awful needles that you hated so much.

You did not lose your battle to cancer and sickness, you decided you didn't want to fight with it anymore. You were ready to move on and find peace and not suffer anymore. I know you wanted to stay with us as long as possible, but we understand that you shouldn't have to be in pain. We know you as the man who will always be reading his newspaper, going to the bookstore and library, cooking up some crazy recipe, and yelling at the Browns every Sunday. It was not fair that you couldn't do that anymore. Now you can and not have to worry about the pain.

We will never forget you and all the wonderful times we had together. You are the smartest man I'll ever meet and I wish I could ask you so many more questions. Please watch out for all of us. You raised a group of strong women and we will continue through life making you and Mom proud. And we promise to give Tank a few extra biscuits because you know he misses laying at your feet. Be careful and call me when you get there. I love you.
