On January 23, 2016 another angel was ushered into the Kingdom.

May 9th, 1936, in Cambria, Virginia, another son was given to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lee Flippen Sr.  He was to be named Thomas Lee Flippen, Jr.

In life he became a hard worker.  Kind, caring, giving, quiet yet heard.  Kind, caring, giving, quiet yet heard.  Soft hands, warm heart.  You loved him or you let him do it his way. In his life there were many challenges and changes.  Beginning a family of his own in Virginia with his firstborn a son named Robert Wayne Flippen.  Moving to Ohio he was blessed with a daughter Argel Lee (Theodore) Mason, and another son Thomas Lee Flippen, Jr.

Thomas’ last job was working at the Barberton Babcock & Wilcox as a crane operator.  He retired in the year of 2006 after thirty-five years of service and I am sure he made a lot of friends.  He became a member of the Boiler Maker Union 900.   During his quest for life he joined the King Solomon Grand Lodge, the local branch Mount Herman Lodge #5, in Akron,Ohio and became a 32 degree Mason in which he proudly served many positions, he loved his fellow brother and sister immensely.

“And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”   Then he came to me; a loving, caring, forgiving and his stand down and patient became his wife Cheryl (Cheatham)-Flippen (Nisey) and I loved him through and to the end.  It was wonderful to know that I asked God to send me someone that I could help lead to the Kingdom, then came Tommy and that lead him to his Greatest love of all, Christ Jesus.  Baptized in the year 2011, by Pastor Kenneth Cheatham at the Community Holiness Church accepting and living the life of a God fearing man until the end. His last vocalized prayer was “God please heal me completely and he told him of the Love he had for him and that he completely trusted in him.” He praised him, while he could out loud.  Hallelujah! He loved the title Deacon Flippen at the Community Holiness Church where he was a faithful member sitting still and learning before reacting.  He took this new change in his life serious and began to share it with others and his new spiritual family that he loved like his own and he will surely be missed.

Leaving behind to cherish his memories is his wife Cheryl (Cheatham) Flippen. Sons; Robert Wayne, Houston, Texas, Thomas L., Flippen of Akron, Ohio, Daughter; Argel (Theodore) Mason of Columbus, Ohio.  Andrew (Bessie) Flippen, Natural Bridge, Va., DuVal P. Flippin of Akron, Ohio, Spencer J. Flippen (Kennie) of Mijawa Japan, Delma Wyatt (Greg Davis) of Akron, Ohio, Doris Price of Columbus, Ohio, Doretha (Ronald) Eaves of Blacksburg, Va.  Sister-in-laws, Camille Hooks (Anthony), Malachi (Godson), Anthony II, Jamilla, Tianna, Jo’von, Zahara, Zion who opened up their hearts and home to Uncle Tommy in his time of need, Ms. Cecilia Ann Cheatham, Pam and Anita Allen.  Brother-in-laws, Charles, Jerome Love of Barberton, Ohio, Joel Frank Love of Akron, Ohio, Theodore Allen of Orrville.  Brothers Robert, Osborne, Wilford Flippen (deceased).  Sisters Brenda Powell and Joyce Humphries (deceased).   A host of Grandchildren, one to be born, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, his church family that had a shared love, the Holy Spirit, friends, The Fuell family, the staff of Barberton Manor Care, Cox Funeral Home, co-workers, Lodge brothers and sisters whom he loved serving with.

Remember this, when “Uncle Tommy gave his heart, he was committed to it.”

On December 21, 2015, when you fell Buddy I had to rise but only with the strength that is perfect, and by now you already know.

A celebration of life will take place along with the King Solomon Grand Lodge to salute a fellow Brother at the Barberton Band Boosters, 795 W. Hopocan Ave., Barberton, Ohio  44203,  Saturday, February 6, 2016.

The family will accept family and friends at 572 Rubber St. Barberton, OH.
