Zoey Kendall Kohler

Zoey Kendall Kohler, age 18, went home to be with the Lord on April 8, 2017. She was born on July 15, 1998. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales church and attended elementary school at St. Francis de Sales school, graduated from MHS, and attended U.A. Honors College.

Preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Wayne Kohler; sister, Jessica Key; aunt, Christine Key; and great-grandparents.

Zoey is survived by her mother, Manuela Kohler; step-dad, Jeff Key; sister, Raven Key; brothers, Austin Kohler, Jaime Key, and Jeff Key; grandparents, Jochen and Siglinde Ranjie, Donald and Cheryl Kohler, and William and Kathleen Abernethy;  numerous aunts,  uncles, and cousins.

Even though cancer took over her life, she did not let it define her. Zoey did not want to be known as the girl with cancer. She fought hard while trying to look as normal as possible and excelling at her studies. Zoey was brilliant and had incredible determination, but most of all, she was loving and kind.

She was a loving daughter, caring sister, and amazing friend to all. She could be a diva to get what she wanted, but never compromised her beliefs and values.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on WEDNESDAY, April 12, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Road, Akron, Ohio 44319. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm on TUESDAY at St. Francis de Sales. Interment will take place at Lakewood Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.

To keep Zoey’s memory alive, donations may be made to any Huntington Bank in Zoey’s name to fund a future scholarship fund, which will keep her love of learning alive.
