Amanda Lynn Baker Chase, age 37, passed away May 13, 2018. She was born December 3, 1980 in Barberton, Ohio, previously was from Seville, Ohio, and was currently living in Glendale, Arizona for the past seven years.
Amanda was an honor roll student and participated in the All State Marching Band Competition. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education, and was a special needs teacher at Desert Sage Elementary. She served in the U.S. Army for 3 years, which included a 15-month tour in Iraq.
Preceded in death by mother, Cheryl Lynn Baker, and grandmother, Alta Claire Baker.
Survived by children, Claire and Cain Chase; father, Jeffery Baker; grandfather, Duane Baker; aunt, Susan Weir; and siblings, Matthew Baker and Melanie Smith.
A memorial service will be held May 25, 2018 from 5-8 pm at Akron First Assembly Church, 1175 West Market St., Akron, OH 44313 with Pastor Kent Jarvis officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory to the Battered Women’s Shelter of Medina and Summit Counties.
