Britt Dougherty

Britt Dougherty, age 68, was born December 29, 1949 in Erie, Pennsylvania and passed away January 25, 2018.

Britt served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. America Aircraft Carrier from 1968 until 1970. He retired from Babcock & Wilcox with 34 years of service. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Wadsworth, Knights of Columbus, Buckeye Woodturners, and Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Preceded in death by father, James Britt, and sister, Eileen.

Survived by his wife of 10 years, Shirley; children, Shannon Owen and Britt; 6 grandchildren; mother, Eleanor Reisenweber; siblings, David, Darcie Dudkiewicz, Patty (Doug) Case, Michael, and Patrick; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 29, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 260 Broad St., Wadsworth, OH  44281. Family will receive friends 1:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High St., Wadsworth. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society. Inurnment with military honors will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, OH.
