Harryette A. (Miller) Suppan

Harryette A. Miller Suppan of Barberton, OH passed away on 7/26/2018.  Born in Wheeling, WV on May 13, 1924, she was the only daughter of Ellen and Roger O. Miller.  She and her parents moved to Barberton when she was a young child, where she was a life-long resident of the city.  She attended Barberton Public Schools and graduated from Barberton High School in 1942.  In her youth, she was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by the Barberton US Post Office, a job she always remembered fondly.

Harryette was a feminist, ahead of her time in both politics and civil rights, while never compromising her values or morals.  She enjoyed vacations in Door County, WI, watching and playing tennis, murder mysteries, walking, bike riding, swimming, and being with her family.   With her late husband Norbert of 62 years, she raised six children, her most important accomplishment.    

Preceded in death by husband, Norbert E. and grandson, Derek Stanley, she is survived and loved by her children Ellen (Bob) McCoy, Amy (Gary) Stanley, Nancy (Kevin) McComas, Mary (Jim) Gnap, Joe Suppan and Rosalie Suppan; grandchildren Tyler (Mark) and Garrett McComas, Alex and Marshall Gnap, Randy McCoy, Kelly, Zac and Audrey Cramer; in-laws Anna Mae and Joe Gabrosek, Raymond and Donna Suppan, Ann Suppan; and many nieces and nephews.   

There will be a private service for family only.
