Helen Fisher Obituary

Helen M. Fisher (nee: Peters), age 88, passed away January 4, 2019. She was born in Washington Twp., Mansfield, Ohio on December 4, 1930 to the late John and Elizabeth (nee: Russ) Peters.

Helen was a 1948 graduate of Mansfield St. Peter’s High School and attended Mansfield Business School. She retired from Sprint in January of 1991 as a Computer Operator. She resided in Mansfield until 1993 when she and her husband Bob moved to Apple Valley. There, they enjoyed boating, playing cards and spending time with family. In 2000 she moved to Wadsworth, Ohio.

Helen was an active Leader with the Girl Scouts of America for ten years and was a member of numerous garden clubs, including the Wadsworth Garden Club until its dissolution in 2016.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allan Robert Fisher; granddaughter, Michelle Robertson (nee: Wilson); sister, Ann Peters-Vader; brothers, Joseph Peters and Val Miller; infant brother, John Peters; sisters-in-law, Billie Peters and Gerry Smith; and brother-in-law, Larry Smith.

Helen was the beloved mother of Lynn (Mike) Wilson and Carol Fisher; cherished grandmother of Katy (Travis) Clark; loving “GG” to Brock and Owen Robertson, and their father, Michael Robertson (Heather Richardson); step-grandmother to Mike Wilson, II and his sons, David and Christopher; furry canine grandchildren, Bridget, Stan, Maggie-Mae and Buddy; numerous extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends WEDNESDAY from 4:00-8:00pm at Cox- McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High Street, Wadsworth. Mass of Christian Burial will be held THURSDAY at 11:00am at Prince of Peace Parish, 1263 Shannon Avenue, Barberton.

The family will also receive friends on FRIDAY from 11:00-1:00pm at Herlihy- Chambers Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue, Mansfield with a graveside service following at Mansfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Helen’s name to Prince of Peace Parish.
