Jack A. Thompson, age 92, left to be at Home with our Heavenly Father on January 29, 2018. He was born in Durbin, WV on June 14, 1925 and was a US Army Veteran, serving his country during WWII. Jack worked as a Union Carpenter for over 50 years, was a member of Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, and was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Lemley; brothers, Robert “Gene”, James and Donald; sister, Mary-Lou; and nephew, Ronald VanHorn.
Survived by his cherished wife of 71 years, Ruby; children, Beverly (Dennis) Steinbeck, Debbie Thompson, Chasidy Thompson, and Jake Messinger; extraordinary grandson and “caretakers”, Eric Lemley, Lisa Lemley, Jack-Jack and little Ruby; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held FRIDAY at 11:00am at Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, 1889 Vernon Odom Blvd. Akron. The family will receive friends, THURSDAY, February 1 from 5:00-7:00pm at Cox- McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton and FRIDAY from 10:30am until the time of service at the church.
