James E. Thompson

James E. Thompson, age 86, went home to be with the Lord April 8th 2017.

James was born in Green Bank West Virginia on April 14th, 1930 to Mack and Fannie Thompson. Jim served in United States Navy and went on to be a Union Carpenter for over 50 years and retired at age 82.

He attended Wintergreen Ledges Church of God. Jim will be remembered as a loving and caring Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather.

Preceded in death by his Wife, Lois; Daughter, Pennie Lou; Sister, Mary Lou; Brothers, Robert and Donald, FOLLOWED ONE DAY LATER BY HIS FAVORITE NEPHEW, RONALD VANHORN.

He is survived by Brother Jack (Ruby) Thompson, Children: James (Valerie) Thompson, Cheryl (Scott) Witzberger, Sandy McCalley. Step-Children: Jan Booher, Deb Page, Ron Page, Rick Lamb, Sandra Beaty and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on THURSDAY at the Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, 1889 Vernon Odom Blvd. Akron, Ohio 44320. Pastor Jim Roma will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on WEDNESDAY, April 12, 2017at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton, and ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE from 10:00-11:00am at the church. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to One of a Kind Pet Rescue, Akron, Ohio.
