James "Jim" Snyder Obituary

James Edward Snyder “Jim” was born on March 1, 1933 and made a peaceful transition into the Lord’s arms on March 21, 2019. He was born in Sweetwater, Alabama to George and Annilu (nee: Etheridge) Snyder. In 1941, the family moved to Akron, Ohio where Jim later graduated from Garfield High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War and retired from Goodyear after 35 years of service as a Printing Press Operator. Jim and his wife enjoyed living in Vass, North Carolina from 1997-2017 where they attended Grace Chapel in Stanford. While in North Carolina, he worked part time at the Pilot and Whistlestop Printing. In July of 2017, they moved back to Ohio to be near family again. Jim loved baseball and once owned several race horses and greatly enjoyed reading his Bible. He is most characterized by everyone for his hilarious and dry wit.

Jim is survived by his wife of 36 ½ years, Betty (nee: Lance); brother, Doug (Pam) Snyder, step-children, Dennis (Lori) Lemons and Shelley (Michael) Johnson; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
