Joseph Robert Bajec, 87, of Wadsworth, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2019. He was born in Cleveland, to the late Joseph and Vera (Bayuk) Bajec on July 8, 1932. He was a graduate of Collinwood High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from John Carroll University in 1954. He graduated in the first class of officers who completed the four-year Reserve Officer’s Training Corp (ROTC) at John Carroll. In 1954, he married Janet Thomas and served in the Army from 1955 to 1961. He worked at Westinghouse in Cleveland and then ventured into a successful partnership, Kormos and Bajec. He retired in 1997. He was an avid golfer, a private pilot and a fan of the Cleveland Indians and was always in the company of good friends and his loving family.
Joe “Bob” was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; his son, Toby Michael; and his sister, Marcia (Mike) Wegener of Geneva.
He is survived by his daughters, Lynne Bajec of University Hts; Judy (Chad) Barrie of Dublin; Jill Campbell of Columbus; Mary Gaffney of Milton, DE; his grandsons, Dylan Gaffney of Brooklyn, NY and Ian Barrie of Dublin; his granddaughter, Sarah Campbell of Columbus; and his brother, Dennis Bajec of Geneva.
Memorial Services will be held, at 10:30am on THURSDAY, August 29, 2019 at Cox- McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High Street, Wadsworth. Chaplain Don Bolich will officiate. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on WEDNESDAY, August 28 from 6:00-8:00 pm and THURSDAY, prior to the service from 10:00-10:30 am.
Inurnment with full military honors will take place THURSDAY at 2:30 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH.
