Kenneth Dickerson Obituary

Kenneth M. Dickerson , 91, went home to be with the Lord September 9th 2018.   Kenny was born July, 26, 1927 in the mountains of Livingston, TN.   As a young man, he moved to Ohio where he lived most of his life.  Kenny, early in life worked for BWX Technologies, a McDermott Company (formerly known as Babcock & Wilcox Company) as a crane operator, where he later retired due to worksite injury.

Kenny was a one of a kind, guy.  Words that come to mind when describing Kenny are:  renegade;  rebel and rambling man.  He had his share of charm & charisma standing out in the crowd, in a black Stetson.    Yep...Kenny was  a 21st Century Rhett Butler who never failed to share his opinions and tell you exactly where he stood on a subject.   And once you met him...you never forgot him.  Kenny  was a master of skill always eager to join  in the opportunity to go fishing, play a good game of poker, horse racing, or  blackjack.   Bingo was a favorite as his years advanced but you had better be able to keep up with him as he played 3 or 4 cards.
Kenny was preceded in death by his former wife Mary Joanne Dickerson (Ross);  son Kenneth Michael Dickerson, "Mikey";  brother, Horace Dickerson; sister, Anna Stinson.   Kenny is survived by his loving daughter, Theresa  Dickerson; and sister, Joyce Mutz.
We rejoice in Kenny's greatest decision in life, accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior.   Theresa will always cherish her early years with her Dad, as he took her fishing;  made family vacations an event to never forget and gave her the opportunity to attend John Carroll University.  A private service & celebration of Kenny's life was held Saturday, September 15, 2018, Cox- McNulty Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Lloyd delivering words of hope, and the message of life everlasting.   Internment followed, Greenlawn Cemetery (Akron, Ohio).   In lieu of flowers or other, Theresa asks that you make a gift to the Haven of Rest Mission or the Barberton Salvation Army in memory of Kenny Dickerson.
