Marie E. Goins

Marie Goins passed away January 18, 2019.  She was born May 17, 1923 in Greensburg, Ohio.

Marie was a loving mother and granny who loved to cook everyone’s favorite meals.  “It’s all guesswork” was her catch-phrase when someone asked her for a recipe.  Marie had a green thumb and had many beautiful houseplants.  She loved to cheer on the Cleveland Cavaliers and especially liked LeBron James.  She loved spending time in Houston with family and often extended visits because she was having such a great time. Marie was a dog lover and adored her furry grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Marie was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed visiting casinos. She was a long-time member of the VFW 3383, American Legion 449 and a social member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Goins; son James Goins; and beloved parrot Pancho.  Marie is survived by daughter Linda (Michael) McNulty; son Robert (Debbie) Goins; daughter Nancy (Robert) Nieman; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Edward Nursing Facility for the care that Marie received.

Private services have taken place for the family. Burial at Hillside Cemetery, Akron, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marie’s name to One of a Kind Pet Rescue, 1929 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313.
