Long before Bruce Willis starred in the movie Die Hard, the phrase described Mark as a life-long Chicago sports fan.
Our parents, Frank and Ramona Merced, introduced him to their love of the Chicago Cubs. Dad took him to his first Cubs game and he lived long enough to see his ultimate dream of seeing his beloved Cubs win the World Series. The Cubs have a powerful cheering section in heaven now.
After being greeted by God and our parents, his biggest joy will be breaking into the Superbowl Shuffle with his hero, Walter Payton.
Ohio State Football was a passion. (Even teaching his nephew, how to cheer against Michigan!)
He had many loves which included DC, Marvel, D &D, Muscle Cars, studying the Lives of the Saints & Papal History.
However, his greatest gift was his unconditional love for family and friends. His brothers and sisters, Rae, Frank, Beque, Sandy and Caesar will never fill the hole left in our hearts by his passing.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 260 Broad St., Wadsworth, OH 44281 with Fr. Joseph Labak as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High St., Wadsworth.
