Richard B. Greczanik, 89, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 7, 2018 while working in his home in Wadsworth, Ohio.
Richard was born in Cleveland, grew up in a Pennsylvania orphanage with his 2 sisters, graduated from St. Stanislaus in Cleveland and spent his last 43 years in Wadsworth where he raised his 5 children. He worked as an electric lineman for 50 years, with his final 24 years at the Wadsworth Electric Department. During his life, AA played an important part in his sobriety and all of his successes in life.
Richard sang his entire life, beginning as a member of the Harmonia Chopin Polish Men’s Singing Group, then the St. Stanislaus Parish Choir, with many of his friends and coworkers nicknaming him Chopin. After moving to Wadsworth, he then shared his booming bass voice with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Choir and the Wadsworth Community Choir.
He selflessly served his children over the years with every house project and car repair up until his last moments. He supported all of his children and grandchildren in each of their interests and expressed his pride for them at every opportunity.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna (Laniecki), his children Vince (Linda) Greczanik, Mary
Greczanik, Rick Greczanik, Monica Greczanik, Grace (Tom) Golias; his grandchildren Rachel,
Vincent, Monica, Nathan, Hannah, Rebekah, Leah, Ben, Maxine, Marie, and Maggie and his nine great
grandchildren.
