Robert Miller Obituary

On February 28, 2018, Robert Earl Miller, age 91, left his earthly home that he built to go to his eternal home with his Lord Jesus Christ. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Norma Jean Miller (nee: Swesey) who was by his side for 71 years, up to the day of his departure.

Robert was a true follower of Jesus Christ and was faithful to the fellowship of Valley Community Church. He served there as a Sunday School Teacher and Elder. He also served the community of Franklin Township (now, New Franklin) as a member of the Zoning Committee and the Manchester School Board.  Dad was also the Grand Marshall of the 2016 New Franklin Memorial Day parade. In his leisure time, Bob loved his gardening, his animals, and his John Deere tractor.

Bob leaves us, but has met up with his mother and father, Burt and Ethelyn Miller; his in laws, Vern and Alta Swesey; brother, Frank and his beloved son, Burt “Rusty” Miller.

Awaiting to be united with him in Glory is his loving wife, Norma Jean; children, Billie Jean (Rich) Arny, Darla (Terry) Smith, and Robert Blaine (Robyn) Miller; grandchildren, Jason and Curtis Arny, Lindsey Stutzman, Sabrina Donatelli, Stephanie Galemmo, Dusty and BJ Smith, Brad and Ryan Miller, Brittany Partin; and brother, Punk Miller. Tractor Grandpa’s legacy of love will be carried on by his 24 great-grandchildren.

The family also wishes to thank special friends, Gary and Barb Kindig, who have become part of the family.

Funeral Services will be held, Monday, March 5 at 12:15pm at Valley Community Church, 5700 Taylor Road, Clinton. Pastor Mark Archer will officiate. The family will receive friends, SUNDAY, from 3:00-5:00pm at the church. Burial with full military honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his nephew, Mark Swesey, who is in service for our Lord at 168 Maranatha Bible Camp or the Ohio Veterans Memorial.
