Wayne Miller Obituary

Wayne L. Miller, 67, of Akron departed from this life, surrounded by his family, February 23rd, 2019.

Born in Barnesville, Ohio on May 21, 1951, Wayne was an ASE Certified Master Technician. He began his 50 year career at AD Kuntz. He also worked for other owners in the same building, A. Merry Cars, Dave Towell Oldsmobile, and he retired in September from Fred Martin Superstore. He often joked that he "came with the building".

Wayne enjoyed bowling on the Barberton Moose Men's League with his friends and brothers and the Mixed League at Charger Lanes in Norton with his wife and family. He was a dedicated Cleveland Sports fan, but would only listen to the games on the radio and never missed an Indians game broadcast.  He was an avid charcoal griller, sun seeker, storm watcher, and siren chaser. Wayne loved to share a beer and his wisdom with anyone who walked into his driveway.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Stanley (Bud) and William (Wes) Miller; sisters, Shirley Sandi and Linda Heiney; niece, Lisa Hartshorn; and nephew, Anthony Sandi.

Wayne left behind to forever mourn his absence, his wife of 46 years, Janet; daughters, Christine (Barry) Flesher, Lori (Jerry) Wilson; miracle granddaughter, Taylor Grace Flesher; brothers Joe (Karen) Miller, Jeff (Kim) Miller; sister, Donna (Terry) Selogy; sister-in-law Michaeline Miller; and brother-in law Michael Heiney; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and his loyal side-kick Abby, his dog.

The family will receive friends, THURSDAY, February 28, 2019 from 6:00-8:00pm and FRIDAY, March 1, 2019 from 11:00-12:00pm (prior to the service) at Cox- McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton. Funeral Services will be held, FRIDAY at 12:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Lakewood Cemetery, Akron.

Wayne will be forever, deeply missed and never replaced.
