Ann Anita (Assenti) Dujanovic Obituary

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the beautiful life of Ann Anita (Assenti) Dujanovic, who passed peacefully on September 5, 2025.

Born in Akron, Ohio, on February 25, 1939, Ann lived a life devoted to faith, family, and the people she cherished. She now joins her beloved husband, Francis “Frank” Dujanovic, who was the love of her life and partner for 60 wonderful years of marriage.

Ann graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Akron and went on to St. Mary’s Hospital School, where she became a registered X-ray technician. Her career began in Long Beach, California, where she and Frank spent their early married years before returning home to Ohio to raise their four children. Ann also worked many years alongside Dr. Roger Hakim and later retired from B&W Dispensary after 15 years of dedicated service.

Above all, Ann’s greatest joy was her family. Nothing made her happier than gathering around the dining room table, surrounded by loved ones, and sharing the pastries she so lovingly baked. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, and her warmth and love filled every celebration.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Charlene Assenti; her brothers: Angelo, Michael, Paul, and James; her sisters: Angeline Sansonetti and Caroline Taormina; and her stepbrother, Michael (Rosemary) Castelli.

She will be dearly missed by her sister and best friend, Francey Orban; her sister-in-law and dear friend, Barb Dujanovic; her stepsister, Lela (Castelli) Wheeler; and by countless friends and extended family.

Her children were her pride and joy: Frank (Shawnie), Jim (Stephanie), Mark (Flo), and Maryann (Eugene) Petrilla. Ann’s love will live on through her many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her endless happiness.

A visitation will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Prince of Peace Church, 1263 Shannon Avenue, Barberton, Ohio 44203. Burial will take place at a later date at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Archbishop Hoban High School in Ann’s memory.

Ann will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle spirit, and the way she made every person she met feel special. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and family devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
