Audrey Charlotte Cross (nee Hershberger, Stevenson, Brncik), 96, passed away December 22, 2023. She was born June 30, 1927, in Johnstown, PA to the late Harry and Bea Hershberger.

Audrey retired from Akron General Hospital as a nurse’s assistant and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Ancient Order of Hibernians. She also fostered many children over the years with Catholic Services.

Audrey enjoyed bowling, traveling, sewing, dancing, and music. Some of her favorite music was by Elvis and Barry Manilow, and she was able to attend her second Manilow show in August 2023.

Preceded in death by parents; husbands, John, Albert, and Roy; and daughters, Diane Toney and Florence Hall.

Survived by children, Audrey (Gary) Nichols, John (Diane) Stevenson, Gail Klusty, Brenda Beth Rickenbacker, and Amy (Chris) Brncik-Fetterman; grandchildren, Aaron and Kevin Suboticki, Jennifer DeVore, John J. Stevenson, Justin Klusty, Emily Leu, Abbigail Rickenbacker-Hill, Tony and Mary Fetterman, Alice Incorvia and Jeff, Greg and John Murray, Brigitt Nelson, and Renee and Jeremy Toney; eighteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and son-in-law, Charles Toney.

Audrey’s family would like to thank her second family at Barberton Legacy for all the loving care she received.

A private funeral mass will take place for the family with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. Celebration of Life will be January 21, 2024, from 1-4 PM at the Hibernian Club, 2000 Brown St, Akron, OH 44319.
