Barbara Jane (Heflin) McBane

Barbara “Bobbie” McBane, age 81 of Barberton, OH, passed away August 14, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones, 5 days short of her 82nd birthday.  Bobbie was born August 19, 1939, in Chicago, IL.  She will be dearly missed by her three children; Cindy Lepley (Erik Anderson), Patty Frankland and Michael Dakota, 8 beautiful grandchildren whom she adored; Nicholas Lepley, Devin Dakota Crenshaw (Sam), Megan, Jason and Jared Frankland, Avery, Noah and Wyatt Miller-Dakota. Although we can’t celebrate her earthly birthday, Bobbie will celebrate her first heavenly birthday with her mom, Virginia; sisters, Mickey Heflin and Jeri Kierl, as well as her best childhood friend Shirley Maltes.

Her family thanks her cherished friend of over 50 years, Judi Hollenbaugh. Mom was forever grateful to the Hollenbaugh and Anzaldi families for 50+ years of love and friendship. Our families shared many memories, and we thank you for opening up your hearts to Mom when she first moved to Barberton in the early 1960’s.

Our Mom was the most generous woman with a heart of gold.  We will miss her genealogy stories, which took her almost 15 years to research, compile and then give everyone their own family history book.  We will miss her famous sugar cookies she made at Christmas time, the emails telling us to “stop by after work, I made you some food,” the smile on her face when the grandchildren walked through the front door.  Nobody could ever walk out that door without her asking if they needed anything; “go in the spare room and take whatever you need” she would always say.  She loved to stock up and made her spare room into a little grocery store for anyone that needed something. And we certainly can’t forget her love of jewelry over this last year.

Mom is finally going back home to Chicago to her final resting spot at Ridgewood Memorial Park, 9900 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Des Plaines, IL where a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. CST on Saturday, August 21, 2021.  

There are no goodbyes, you will always be in our hearts, and we will see you again Mom.
