"Together Again"

Betty Bechter passed away peacefully, Friday, October 4th, 2024, after a long illness.

Betty was born in Greenwich, Ohio on May 15, 1935, and lived most of her life in Barberton. She was a member of Barberton Church of God and a longtime member of the Barberton WOTM, holding many offices, including Star Recorder, Senior Regent and Deputy Grand Regent for Ohio. Betty had an active social life and enjoyed bowling, bike riding, hiking, gardening, painting, crocheting, reading and just about every craft you can imagine. She loved going to the ocean and you had to drag her off the beach when it was time to go. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. 

Preceded in death by her mother and father, James & Lucille Smith, brother James Smith and husband of 55 years, Richard Bechter. Betty will be greatly missed by her children, Rick (Sherry) Bechter, Linda (Al) Vanek, Susie (Jim) Fisher; grandchildren, Eric (Diana) Bechter, Jason Bechter (Becca & son Jeffrey), Jackie Fisher, Stacie (Adem) Hacimuezzin, Jimmy (Danielle) Fisher, John (Camila) Vanek; great-grandchildren, Natalie Bechter, Ayla, Emma and Aiden Hacimuezzin; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton. Visitation will start one hour prior to the service at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery immediately following the service.
