In Loving Memory of Brenda Hervet (McCroskey)

March 9, 1954 – January 23, 2026

Brenda Hervet (McCroskey), age 72, of New Franklin, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026.

Born on March 9, 1954, in Barberton to the late Dan and Wilma McCroskey, Brenda was a lifelong resident of the community. She was a woman defined by her heart for service, retiring from United Disability Services after more than 30 years of dedicated work. Her kindness and commitment left a lasting impact on the lives of many.

Brenda found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid crafter and knitter who loved nothing more than settling in with a project and a Hallmark movie. She had a special fondness for nature, particularly the hummingbirds she carefully fed and watched from her home. Known for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, Brenda was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Hervet; her parents; and her three brothers, Danny, Mike, and Dave McCroskey.

Brenda is survived by her children, daughter Brandy (McCroskey) Nicholson and son John McCroskey; her sisters, Michelle (David) Winans and Sharon Bush; and a host of grandchildren, extended family, dear friends, and her dog, Luke, who will miss her deeply.

In accordance with Brenda’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. Her family encourages those who knew her to remember her in their own way.
