Carol Schmeltzer Obituary

Carol Sue Schmeltzer (April 23, 1939 – May 5, 2026)

Heaven just got a little louder – our most talkative has arrived.

Carol Sue Schmeltzer, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 5, 2026.

Carol was born on April 23, 1939 to Frances and Carl Schmeltzer in Akron, Ohio.  She was voted ‘most talkative’ in high school and lived up to her title.  She spent her life as a beautiful mother and worked various jobs that she enjoyed.  She spent her free time gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends more than anything.  We were blessed to have her and will miss her very much.  Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her children, Colleen Davis of Aurora, Ron Davis, Jr. of North Canton, Terry Davis (Becky) of Kent, and Dale “Marty” Davis (Michele) of Ashland, WI; grandchildren, Karlee Davis, Kyle Davis, and Kameron Davis all of North Canton; brother, Carl (Pat) Schmeltzer of Copley; and many friends and family.  Carol is preceded in death by her former husband, Ronald W. Davis Sr. and former partner, Richard Rathmell; her sisters, Joceil Drexler and Betty McEwan, and brother, Raymond Schmeltzer.

A Memorial Service and Interment will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery, 2580 Romig Rd., Akron, OH. 44320.
