Carole "Cartie" Antonelli Obituary

On January 21, 2022, the world lost an amazing woman, Carole “Cartie” Antonelli!  Born April 21, 1951, she attended St Augustine School, graduated from Barberton High School in 1969, then graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1973.   She lived 70 extraordinary years caring for family, friends and those in need.  Despite suffering with many illnesses and medical conditions, Cartie found strength in her sincere love of God! Her deep faith helped her cope with daily struggles resulting in a great compassion for others.  Always giving gifts to everyone was her way of reminding them that they were loved by her and by God.  She founded “Cartie’s Kids”, a charity dedicated to caring for all God’s Children and their families in need!  She was truly one of God’s most beautiful people making our hearts smile thinking of all the amazing things she did for us, her family, her friends, and countless others through her charitable work.  She was a highly gifted teacher teaching in Catholic Schools until her health conditions prevented her from continuing her career.  Cartie could easily engage people and was often asked for advice.  Her message always was to act with love and that God is the only answer to life’s difficulties.  Her life as a teacher, Christian witness and prayer warrior brought faith, peace, and inspiration to many.  Her family and friends will be greatly comforted knowing she is praying for us now from the very heart of God and continuing to touch our hearts in our daily prayers.

Cartie is preceded in death by her father, David Arthur Lyle, mother, Irene Lyle, brother, Jim Lyle, brother-in-law, Dennis Antonelli and many others.  She is survived by her loving husband John, brothers David Lyle (Ann), Dennis Lyle (Vicki) and Jimmy’s wife (Karin).  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and godchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. She will also be missed by those who called her friend!

A celebration of Cartie’s life will be held at St Augustine Church at 11 AM on Saturday, June 11, with calling hours there from 10-11AM.  Inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Her husband John will continue to carry on with their charitable works.  Memorial Donations in Cartie’s name may be made to Cartie’s Kids, 873 N Columbine Dr., Barberton OH 44203.

With Praise and Thanksgiving to Almighty God we thank the Lord for His incredible gift of Cartie who was His faithful angel on earth.  She will be forever missed and always loved!
