Carolyn “Sue” Metz (nee Snyder) 74, passed away at her home with her husband by her side on Friday, May 3, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born in Barberton Ohio on July 29, 1949, a 1967 BHS graduate.  Sue and Jim were married August 9, 1967, and raised their family in Barberton.  Sue retired from Malco Products after many years of service.  After retirement she enjoyed spending time traveling with her husband and family. The beach and the casino were her favorite destinations. Margarita nights with her cousins was another favorite activity.  A lover of all Ohio sports, cooking and baking for the family and any cooking show she could find.

Through our grief we will try to only remember the many joyous times made possible by this loving woman and know we will continue to gather as a family because of her.  Loved by so many, and never to be forgotten. So grateful she was ours.

She is survived by husband, James R. Metz; daughters, Missy (John) Blackert of Norton, Nikki (Josh) Meyers of Barberton; grandchildren, Austin Hopkins and Jessica, Sadie (Shane) Robinson, Sarah (Drake) Gable, Owen Smith, Jonathan Blackert and Erica, Russell Smith and Halie; great grandchildren, Beau and Cooper Robinson, Rory and Madden Gable; sister, Cindy O’Brien; sister in law, Sandy Wowra; brother in law, Jack Metz; best friend, Flo Monroe; cousins, Nancy Lyons, Toni Trenta, Micki Camperchioli; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by mother Jeanne Ferrell and stepfather Rich Ferrell, and in laws Russell and Becky Metz.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave. Barberton, from 12:00-1:00 p.m., with a services to follow at 1:00 p.m. and burial services at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, 15847 Elmwood Dr. Doylestown.
