Cecil Gene Vannoy Sr., age 77, passed away at home on May 8, 2024, in Akron Ohio. He was born on November 23, 1946 in Akron, Ohio to Cecil and Clara Vannoy.

“Gene” is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Peggy; stepsons, Michael and Jason; grandkids, Justin, Hailee, Hunter, Anthony, and Andrew; great grandkids, Zayden, Neville, and Roxanne; brothers, Roger, Duke, and Jim; sister, Cecile; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and his special buddy, Jake the dog. 

Gene enjoyed scrapping and fishing and had lived in the Barberton area most of his life. He was a veteran of the US Army. 

Per Gene's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no funeral services will be held. A private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
