Charles “Chuck” Kelley, 83, of Green, Ohio, passed away January 29, 2023, at home with his wife by his side. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on December 13, 1939. Raised by his parents, Reverend Henry and Ruby Kelley.
Chuck was someone who always put his family first. He raised two daughters by himself until he met the love of his life and happily took on four more children to call his own. He was larger than life; a devoted husband, father and grandpa that will be missed beyond measure.
Chuck served in the Vietnam War as a soldier in the United States Marine Corps. After the service, he worked for many years at Firestone Tire and Rubber and retired from Frank J Stolitzka & Son Inc. He was a long time, faithful member of The Apostolic Church of Barberton. Chuck was a talented artist, wood worker, and whirligig maker. When he was not working on cars or fishing, he was spending time with his wife, kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Henry and Ruby Kelley; and daughter Deborah Behrend. Survived by his one true love, wife Carolyn of 46+ years; children, Joenita (Stephen) Scannell, Lisa (David) Flocker, Roger (Michelle) LaBar, Bernard LaBar, and Michael (Valerie) LaBar; grandchildren, Brian LaBar, Stephanie LaBar, Desiree (Teddy) Davis, Robert (Kristie) Davis, Jason (Crystal) LaBar, Rachelle (Jonathan) Halchak, Nathan (Katy) Garcia, Tiffany (Brandon) Holcomb, Taylor (Alex) Horvath, Tristan Montgomery, and Gabrielle Flocker; and many, many great-grandchildren. In recent years, Chuck really loved connecting with several biological siblings.
