Craig A. Smith, age 62, went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2024. He was born August 16, 1961, in Akron, Ohio to Dorothy E. and Ralph A. Smith. Craig attended the Chapel in Green and was part of The Connections ABF. He worked for Northlawn Memorial Gardens for 43 years and retired as Superintendent.

Craig was an avid golfer and enjoyed working in his workshop.  He and his brother, Bob, also spent many months restoring Craig’s 1989 Chevy Cheyenne. Yardwork was one of his many passions and he worked hard to keep his yard pristine, but, most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Ralph A. and Dorothy E. Smith; and his sister, Janit M. Layne.

Craig is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Smith; his children: Amanda Smith, Adam (Chloe) Smith, and Ashley (Adam) Karlen; grandchildren: Destiny, Cora and Liza; siblings: Carol (Tom) Blose, Garry (Shelly) Smith, and Bob Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton, Ohio 44203, with services following immediately. Craig will be laid to rest at Restland Cemetery, 1333 Tallmadge Road, Kent, Ohio 44240.
