Daniel Lee Grimm, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on November 17, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. A lifelong resident of Barberton, Ohio, Daniel served his country proudly as a Navy veteran. Daniel found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was passionate about bowling, roller skating, NASCAR, and racing of any kind, finding excitement in every turn and finish line. His enthusiasm for life and his interests brought smiles to those around him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Yakus; his stepfather, Paul “Bo” Yakus; his brother, John Grimm; and his stepdaughter, Christine Sandmann. Daniel is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Evelyn Grimm. He leaves behind his loving children: Danielle (Shannon), Gretchen, Heather (Albert), Fred, and son-in-law, Bill; his brothers: Matthew Grimm and Christopher Grimm; sister-in-law, Linda Grimm; previous wife, Cindy; his six cherished grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
A celebration of Daniel’s life will be held at a later date. His family invites those who knew and loved him to join in remembering a man who lived with passion, love, and devotion to his family and hobbies.
Rest easy, Daniel. You will be deeply missed forever.
