Daniel “Danny” Mark Smith, age 77, went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2025. Born November 11, 1947, in Barberton, Ohio, Danny went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam as a Rifleman starting June of 1966 to December of 1969. He was awarded a Purple Heart Award and later proudly retired from the Gardner Pie Company.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Smith and his mother, Helen Barold.

Danny was survived by his daughter, Lisa Somers; his son, David (Katie) Smith; his 2 grandsons: Joseph (Kristina) Corley and Gregory Smith; his great-grandson, Callahan Corley; his very best friend and grand-dog, Gracie Lee. He was a bonus uncle to many and leaves behind many, many special family and friends. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton, Ohio 44203. A Funeral Service will be held the next day, Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, immediately followed by the burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio 44273.
