David Jon Smith

David Jon Smith, 71, passed away on November 18, 2020 after a short illness.
Dave was born in Barberton, Ohio on April 19, 1949 to Oscar and Hallie Smith he was a graduate of Barberton High School class of 1968 and was an all around athlete.  He then attended San Jacinto college in California on a football scholarship. He eventually returned to Barberton where he followed his dream of being an entrepreneur and owned Total Tree Care and Dixie Auto Sales.  In 1979 he married Joy Guiser and they had 3 beautiful children together.  
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping at "the cabin" in Lake Piedmont with his family! 
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Charles, Don, and Larry Smith, and son Grant Smith.  He leaves behind his daughter, Shea (Jeremiah) Zollinger, his son Perry (Becki) Smith, 4 grandchildren Trenton and Zoey Zollinger and Bailey and Oakley Smith and his sister, Norma Mosley.
Per his wishes there will be no service and cremation has taken place.
His ashes will forever remain at the cabin at Lake Piedmont! 
He will be missed by his family, friends and nieces and nephews.
