Donald Ray Oscai, departed from this world on October 19, 2023 at the age of 83, surrounded by the love of his family and friends, in the comfort of his own home.

Don was a beacon of strength and dedication, born on August 5, 1940, on a family farm in Sherman Township, Ohio. Throughout his life, Don remained a devoted member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, his faith unwavering and his commitment steadfast.

Don was the epitome of a hardworking, self-motivated, and reliable individual, always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His generosity knew no bounds, and his kindness left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.

A man of diverse interests and passions, Don had a profound love for vintage automobiles and car shows. His enthusiasm for sports was equally commendable, serving as a registered official for fastpitch softball, volleyball, football, and baseball. His dedication to the Ohio High School Athletic Association as an umpire spanned an impressive 38 years, a testament to his commitment and love for the game.

Don’s professional journey was marked by 44 years of dedicated service at Babcock & Wilcox, culminating in a fulfilling tenure at Rain Tree Golf Course, where he forged lifelong friendships over six memorable years.

Don’s journey on earth was enriched by the companionship of his beloved wife, Sharon Lynn Oscai, with whom he shared 44 wonderful years. He now joins her in eternal rest, along with his son Mark Oscai, his parents Triesa and Mike Oscai, his sister Rosemary Calderone, his niece Karen Oscai, and his son and daughter-in-law Stephen Yankulov and Christi Waddell.

Don’s legacy lives on through his cherished family, including his son Don (Paula) Oscai; his brothers Larry (Mona) Oscai and Kenny (Sandy) Oscai; his sister Betty (Jim) Kavelaris; his stepchildren Leisa Yankulov, Rick Waddell, and Marc (Debbie) Tomor; his beloved grandchildren Brittney (Derek) Bates, Kaitlin (Scott) Tyler, Jamie (Steven) Yankulov, Stephen (Ada) Yankulov, Alecia Waddell, and Seth Waddell; and his adored great-grandchildren Mason Bates, Max Bates, Maggie Stott, Lettie Stott, Marc Tomor Jr., and Sebastian Zimmer.

Don’s memory will forever be a beacon of love, dedication, and kindness, inspiring all who knew him to live a life full of passion and generosity. He will be profoundly missed, but his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his remarkable life.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton. Funeral service will be held the following morning, Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
