Donna Meager Hardy (Donna Eileen Meager), born April 5, 1941, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, surrounded by close family.

Donna grew up in Seville, Ohio, and built an impressive career in the banking industry, starting as a small-town teller and working her way up to branch manager at Old Phoenix Bank of Medina County, then blazed a trail as the first woman Vice President of Corporate Lending at National City Bank in Akron. She retired from banking in 1988 to pursue her true passion, opening Kid’s Campus daycare in Hudson, Ohio. For 14 successful years she cared deeply for the children entrusted to her. She was delighted to run into those kids and their families as they grew up and maintained close meaningful connections. After selling the daycare, she continued helping others as a realtor, where her clients appreciated her dedication and care.

Donna was strong, warm, kind, and considerate, always going out of her way to help others in need. She was a lifelong active member of the Seville Alumnae Association, cherishing enduring friendships.  Donna loved her family dearly and became the historian and matriarch of her sprawling extended family. She cherished time with her sister Emily and enjoyed traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, B. Marvin (Bud) Hardy; her brothers Dan, Albert (Bud), and Bruce Meager; and her sisters Barbara Meager Calvin and Emily Jane Schaumberg.

She leaves behind her son Bruce Hardy; grandson Joe (Emily) Hardy; stepdaughter Synthia Hardy Kushner, grandchildren Lucas (Alisha) Kushner, Dustin Harmel and MaKayla Harmel, great-grandchildren Theodore, Susie, and Adam; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and their children.

A private graveside service will be held for close family and friends. A Committal service will take place Monday, January 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, 200 College Street, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281.
