Edward Elmer Raus, 76, of Rittman, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29th, 2025, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and will carry his memory always. 

Born on September 18th, 1949, in Garfield Heights, Ohio, Edward grew up with a love of the outdoors and held a deep affection for the time he spent in Canada with his grandfather, memories he treasured throughout his life.  

Edward dedicated many years to the boilermaker’s union, Local 85, as well as developing and co-owning The Tree Farm Nursery, both of which he took great pride in. Beyond his work, he was most proud of his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and loved one. He never missed an opportunity to support, teach, and tease those he loved. 

He enjoyed the peace of the great outdoors, especially the simple pleasure of fishing. Some of his best moments were spent at family holidays and trips to Canada he continued to take throughout his life. 

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Sandra Raus, his sons Edward (Patsy), David, and Matthew, his daughters Kimberly (Luke) and Katherine, his grandchildren Alexis, Brielle, and Nicholas Raus, Lillyan and Isaac Raus, Miles Musselman, and Roman Reitema, and his sister Patricia (Gary), all of whom were blessed to know his love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Madonna Raus, and his brother, Douglas Raus, whom he is now reunited with. 

A private, family viewing will be held in accordance with his wishes. The family is grateful for the kindness and condolences shared by all who knew him.  

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the life Edward lived and the love he gave to those around him. His legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the values he passed down, and the family he built. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
