Esther (Rohr) Henry

"Together Again"           

            Our beloved mother, Esther Rohr Henry, left this world on August 5, 2022 to join our father and brother in Heaven.  

            Esther was born on July 6, 1926 to David and Alva Rohr in Doylestown, Ohio the third oldest of eight children.   Esther grew up on the family farm where she developed her love of gardening.  There she learned how to plant, grow, harvest and preserve the many fruits and vegetables she grew.  She taught this love of gardening to all of her children.  She created many delicious dishes from the fruits of her labor.   Whenever anyone stopped by the house she always had cookies, pies, breads or cakes ready to offer them.  No one would leave the house hungry.  Esther also enjoyed growing and keeping many flowers, shrubs and trees.  She was quite proud of the beauty they added to her yard.

            Esther had a deep faith and belief in God.    She prayed the rosary daily for her family and anyone who needed extra prayers. 

            Esther met the love of her life John Henry thru his niece and Esther’s co-worker.  They married on August 30, 1946.  John and Esther resided in Wadsworth for 72 years.  Esther is survived by her  children Karen (Duane) Montgomery of Wadsworth and their children Kevin Montgomery, Colleen (Jeremy) Schadewald, Kerri (David Shannon) Albright, and John (Kristin) Montgomery of Wooster;   Tom (Cindy) Henry of Wooster and their children Heather (Brian) Johnson, Angie Smith and Christina (Jerry) Patterson,  John J. Henry of Doylestown and his son John W. Henry.  Esther had 13 great grandchildren Ryan Rivera, Shay Schadewald, Duane Schadewald, Declan Schadewald, Rhys Albright, Tanner Montgomery, Kyra Ulry,  Noah Montgomery,  Kyle (Felisha) Henry, Ceth (Breanna) Johnson, Joshua Smith, Dakota Patterson and Raina Patterson and 3 Great great grandchildren Evie Henry, Ryliee Henry and Brynnley Johnson.  Esther loved her family and loved having them come visit especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Also surviving is her brother David (Wanda) Rohr along with many nieces and nephews
Besides her parents Esther was predeceased by her husband of 53 years John and son Jeff;  Sisters Helen Felix, Mildred Busson, Thelma Csondors and Viola Busson; brothers Clarence (Bud) Rohr, and John Rohr.

            The family would like to thank the entire staff at The Inn at Coal Ridge and at Harmony Hospice for the wonderful care they extended to mom and our family over past months.  It was truly appreciated.

            Calling hours will be Wednesday August 10, 2022 4-7PM at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home 1376 High Street, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281 and Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday August 11, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 260 Broad Street, Wadsworth, OH  44281
