Florence Ann (Gilmore) Fongheiser

Florence Ann Fongheiser (nne: Gilmore), age 82, passed away on September 17, 2022. She was born on May 8, 1940 in Rochester, NY to Bernard and Frances Gilmore.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Fongheiser; son, Carl Fongeiser; parents, Bernard & Frances Gilmore; brothers, Jack Gilmore (Joyce), Jim Gilmore (Maureen); and sister, Ellen Clarke (Ed).

She is survived by daughters, Laura Vincent (Garry), Karen Shultz (Max), Marilyn Catanese (Chuck), Susan Wiesemann (Jeff); son, David Fongheiser (Terry); brother, Steve Gilmore (Marilyn); grandchildren, Joshua Fongheiser (Courtney), Thomas Fongheiser (Faith), Holly Fongheiser, Heidi Fongheiser, Samuel Fongheiser, Sean Wiesemann, Kayleigh Wiesemann, Dustin Shultz , Nathan Jones & Justin Jones; as well as her in-laws, Ed Fongheiser (Judy), Janet Samosky (Vincent), Paul Fongheiser, Rita Loggins (John), and Jack Fongheiser (Evelyn), Joyce Gilmore, Maureen Gilmore, and Marilyn Kuchta.

Florence was an avid baseball fan who wouldn’t miss either listening to or watching Cleveland Indians games. She enjoyed playing card games such as Bridge and Rummy with her friends. She was an active member of the Garden Club of Wadsworth. Florence was a very active in the Sacred Heart Community. She was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and organized the annual rummage sale for many years.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 5:00-7:00pm at Cox- McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High Street, Wadsworth. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Friday, at Sacred Heart Church, 260 Broad Street, Wadsworth. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Wadsworth.
