Frances “Fran” Marie Shuster (Scalf), born and raised in Inez, Kentucky, to Oliver and Maskel Scalf (née Crum), passed peacefully from this earth to heaven on Saturday, June 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband, Mark and her children.

In addition to her parents, Fran was preceded in death by her sisters: Carol Sue White and Virginia Cook.

She is survived by her children: Stephanie (Mickie) and Elias (Jon) of Uniontown, Ohio, Jeff Vittori (Deb) of Barberton, Ohio and Jason Vittori of Norton, Ohio.

Fran was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Fran found great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. She cherished family gatherings and the laughter they brought. Her heart was especially devoted to the clients she served during her 25 years as an Activity Assistant at an adult day care center in Columbus. Her compassion, joy and laughter touched everyone she met.

Fran spent the majority of her life in Columbus, Ohio with her beloved husband, Mark, her legacy of love and kindness will live on in all who knew her.

A memorial service to celebrate Fran’s life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Avalon New Albany at 245 East Main Street, New Albany, Ohio 43054.
