Frances "Becky" Rebecca Metz

Frances Rebecca Metz “Becky” passed away on January 5, 2019. She was born on December 29, 1925 in Stouts Mills, WV.

Preceded in death by her husband, of 68 years, Russell; parents, Bud & Ada (nee: Collins) Beall; brothers, Hamilton, Charley, Clayton, and Earl Beall; sisters, Zura Manners and Dolly Wilfong.

Survived by her sons, Jim (Sue), Jack (Rochelle); daughter, Sandy (Dan) Wowra; 5 grandchildren, Missy, Nikki, Kristi, Shelly and Danny; 15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren.

Mom grew up in Gilmer County, WV; moving to Akron in the early 1940’s aiding the war effort, working at BF Goodrich. Mom met Dad in Akron after the war and they were married in 1947. They purchased a home in Barberton in 1950 where they lived until their passing.

Mom spent her years as a homemaker, raising her children, and growing beautiful flower and vegetable gardens.  Mom was a great cook, even though she sometimes burnt the biscuits when fixing Christmas dinner with a kitchen full of family.

Mom loved all of her family but especially the 26 grandchildren she was blessed with over the last 50 years.  She will be deeply missed.

Special thanks to the staff at Akron City Hospital ICU Department and Dr. Erik Miller for the surgery he performed. Also a special thanks to the staff at Doylestown Health Care Center for their excellent care and to Crossroads Hospice for their help.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, January 10, from 5:00-7:00pm and Friday one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00pm at Cox- McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville.
