Geraldine “Gerry” Carder went home to be with the Lord May 5, 2023.

Gerry was born on July 27, 1938, in Akron, Ohio. She enjoyed crosswords, animals, watching ‘Raymond’ and ‘Golden Girls’, but most of all, being with her family.

Gerry is preceded by her parents, James and Elizabeth Houston; her husband of 45 years, Carroll “Ike” Carder; and siblings, James Houston, Carol Adkins, Lina Houston, and Mary Parrott.

She is survived by sons, Floyd (Chris) Carder and Brian (Jamie) Carder; grandsons, Aidan and Logan; brother, Robert Houston; and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home (222 Norton Ave., Barberton, OH) from 5:30-6:30, with the funeral service to follow at 6:30. Interment will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Falls Creek Community Church (149 Northmoreland Ave, Munroe Falls, OH).
