Gus Karos Obituary

Gus Karos, age 80, passed away October 6, 2022 and is now flying in the B17 in the sky.


He was born on March 14, 1942 in Akron, Ohio to the late Tom & Jean Karos. Gus was a 1961 graduate of Barberton high school, a member of St. Thomas Eastern Orthodox church in Fairlawn and retired from B&W with over 25 years of service.  He enjoyed war planes and was a history buff, watching many documentaries and autobiographies.


Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom; grandson, James Jodon; and brother-in-law, Rob Letzel.


He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Joanne; children, Gus (Pat), Lisa, and Alex (Sue); sister, Josie; brother, Bill; sister-in-law, Carolyn Skinner; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.


The family will receive friends, WEDNESDAY, October 12, 2022 from 10:00-12:00pm at Cox- McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery, Akron.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas Eastern Orthodox church, 555 S. Cleveland- Massillon Road, Fairlawn, OH 44333.
