Helen Elizabeth Kinney, age 75, went home to be with the Lord on March 16th, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Helen enjoyed taking cruises, spending time with family and friends, and listening to country music. She liked to have fun and will be remembered by many for dancing the twist and doing cartwheels at her children’s wedding receptions. She was known for being straightforward and never left any doubt as to how she felt about any subject. Always willing to help others, she was a former volunteer at Summa Barberton Hospital and The Humane Society of Summit County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Mae O’Donald and Joseph O’Donald; brother, Robert O’Donald and sister, Ruth Dillon.
Helen will be greatly missed by her husband of 57 years, Neil Kinney; children, Patrick (Sheila) Kinney, and Yvonne (Don) Hess; grandchildren Matthew, Amber, and Aiden; great-grandchildren Liam and Ryan; sister, Jane Lovsey and brother, John O’Donald; many other family members and friends including her extended family at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church and her cats, Squeaker and Tuxie.
At Helen’s request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Stewarts Caring Place (stewartscaringplace.org/donate) or to a charity of your choice.
