Ida Jane Simcox (nee Young), age 89, passed away May 5, 2024. She was born August 9, 1934 in Barberton, Ohio. She dedicated much of her time and energy to working for The Society for Handicapped Citizens of Medina County.

Preceded in death by her husband, Dale “Simmie” Simcox, and son, Dale “Butch” Simcox Jr.

Ida is survived by daughter, Terri Petty of Barberton; son, Scott Simcox of Medina; grandchildren, Ashley (Marik) Hughes of Pickerington, Megan (Tyler) Spears of New Albany, Tim Petty of Barberton, Kelley (Jason) Steigerwald of Wadsworth, and Jessica Petty of Westerville; eight great grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Pat) Young of Massillon; sister, MaryLou Oberholtz of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High St, Wadsworth, OH  44281. Private interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Society of Handicapped Citizens of Medina County, 4283 Paradise Rd, Seville, OH  44273.
