Jack Leon Villers Obituary

Mr. Jack Leon Villers, age 84, of New Franklin, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, of vascular dementia following what he would say was “a very full and happy life”.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home in Wadsworth, Ohio. Chaplain Don Bolich will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Born on August 13, 1940, in Annamoriah, West Virginia, Jack was the son of the late Virgil and Mildred Villers. He graduated from Norton High School in 1960. A true “Jack of all trades,” he began his career as a milkman for Reiter Dairy and went on to hold a variety of roles: Safety Director at B&C Industries, insurance agent, photographer, lumber truck driver for Galehouse Lumber, and designer and builder for Lucas Nursery. In retirement, he enjoyed the art of taxidermy.

Jack’s many hobbies reflected his love of the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, making yearly trips to Quebec, Canada and Arkansas, and loved boating. Jack took great pride in maintaining his yard, creating beautiful landscapes, and—most importantly—spending time with his family.

Jack is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Villers; daughters and sons-in-law, Barb and Ken Berlin, Bonnie and Dwayne Bricker, and Judy and Jack Nemet; stepdaughters and their husbands, Jennifer and Gary Willie and Jacqueline and Maxx Matheny; granddaughters, Samantha Willie, Lynnlee Matheny, and Tinslee Matheny; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Shelly Villers; sister-in-law, Judy Villers; brother-in-law, Tony Vargo; several nieces and nephews; and Sharon Genis, mother of his three daughters. He will also be remembered by his many dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne and Helen Villers, brother, Virgil Villers Jr.; sister, Carole Senderak; and his many loyal dogs throughout the years.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Traditions Hospice, especially Diana, Kim, and Diamond, for the compassionate care they provided to both Jack and his family during his final days.
